Jamie Foxx and Kerry Washington Discuss the Emotional Difficulty of Shooting Django Unchained
Jamie Foxx and Kerry Washington hit Comic-Con to talk about their upcoming film Django Unchained which is directed by Quentin Tarantino. Jamie says shooting the film was very difficult for everyone involved. He said Leonardo DiCaprio kept apologizing for all the awful things his character says and does to Foxx's character. Jamie said he and Samuel Jackson told the white actors to stop apologizing: they appreciated the thought but to make the movie real they really had to "go there" and show the brutality of the time.
Kerry experienced the same emotional difficulty of shooting scenes in which her slave character is abused. It really brought home how awful that period of history was. Take a look:
