Ian Somerhalder Talks Vampire Diaries Spinoff and Fifty Shades of Grey Casting

Ian Somerhalder chats about the new The Vampire Diaries spinoff called The Originals. Ian says it's good they are expanding the universe with more characters, although he said is the only New Orleans native in the cast and he is the only one that didn't get to go to New Orleans where they are filming.

Ian also responded to rumors that he is in the running to play Christian Grey in the film version of E.L. James' bestselling novel Fifty Shades of Grey. est on the 'Fifty Shades' casting rumor. Ian says every actor in Hollywood has been attached to the role.

He seemed interested in playing the part and relayed a funny story about a female doctor who was surreptitiously reading the racy novel behind him in the checkout line at Whole Foods. Take a look:
