Gun Sales Soaring as President Obama Promises Gun Control Legislation is Coming

There is one industry that appears completely immune to the recession: the gun industry. Gun sales are booming across the nation. The FBI reports that it is processing a record number of background checks by people wanting to purchase firearms. Sales aren't quite as brisk in Connecticut and Colorado, the sites of the two biggest mass shootings in 2012, but sales are still good. In other states, dealers can barely keep their shelves stocked and there are waiting lists for firearms. President Obama has said he will make gun control legislation a priority in the new year -- that appears to be driving much of the buying frenzy. The AP reports:
