Consumers were relieved that gas prices didn't climb at the start of summer. However, gas price are now rising late in summer, which is unusual. ABC News warns that prices could spike even more because of a refinery fire near San Francisco. Gas prices have already shot up over 30 cents in some states in the past week. The AAA's Fuel Gauge Report shows the national average gas price at $3.68 - about 30 cents higher than just one month ago. Take a look:
