FDA to Require Vending Machines to Display Calorie Counts

The FDA is going require vending machines to post calorie information. This will include both snack and soda machines. ABC News says the FDA will release the final details about the new regulations early next year. Owners of the vending machines will have a year to comply with the regulations. NY1.com reports that the changes are expected to cost the vending machine industry about $24 million. It does seem fair to give consumers more information about what they are buying before they insert their money into the machine. Take a look:
