Apparently fearing that they are falling behind in the war to create the most disgusting sandwich in American, executives at Denny's have
created the Fried Cheese Melt. The sandwich is made with four fried mozzarella sticks and melted American cheese grilled between two slices of sourdough bread. It's served with sides of french fries and marinara sauce and costs a mere $4.
It's a confusing sandwich. The Double Down was disgusting, but at least we sort of understood what the creators were going for: you know, the huge gross out meat sandwich. Perhaps Denny's was going for the vegetarian version of the Double Down? That's possible. Frightening, but possible.
