Facebook Developing Technology to Let Kids Under 13 Use Facebook

Kids under age 13 are currently banned from Facebook, but the social network is reportedly developing technology that will let children under 13 use the site with parental controls. The parental controls give the parent of the child the power to decide who they can friend, who and what they can like and what apps they can use. The move to allow kids to join is concerning because of Facebook's troubled privacy record. Two Congressman have already voice concerned about Facebook's plans to let kids join. Wall Street Journal reporter Anton Troianovski says Facebook's plunging stock price is one reason Facebook is making the move to signup kids, which could open up new ad revenue streams. Troianovski also says a lot of kids are already using the site anyway despite the site's under 13 ban. Take a look:
