not really approve, saying "She was not sporting a fanny pack. Or wearing beaten-up rubber flip-flops. She looked fine.
But that doesn't make the ensemble okay." On
The Today Show, Robin said that when the first lady gets off Air Force One, by definition it's a formal occasion and she knows photographers are waiting. She said it is shocking to see a first lady in such an outfit in that formal setting.
Michelle wore the shorts on a hot day to visit the Grand Canyon with her husband and two girls, Malia and Sasha. But her choice of shorts has set off a firestorm of controversy. Now NBC News explores this crucial issue:
We think it's perfectly appropriate for the First Lady to wear shorts on a trip to the Grand Canyon, especially in 106 degree heat. We just didn't particularly care for this outfit. Gray is not a good color for her; a different pair of shorts with a cuter top would have looked better. We're thinking some white bermuda shorts with a navy and white knit top would have been much cuter on her. If the outfit had better lines, and looked a bit neater, we don't think anyone would have minded that she was wearing shorts. It's that this outfit looked like something you'd wear to clean out the garage that is causing all the problems, not that she's showing her (quite toned) legs.
