Dr. Sujatha Reddy Explains Study That Links Coffee Drinking With Lower Risk of Alzheimer's
A recent study links drinking three cups (or more) of coffee a day with a decreased risk of developing Alzheimer's. The study followed persons older than 65 who already had mild cognitive impairment. They measured the level of caffeine in their blood over time. It turns out that those that had caffeine levels of at least three cups of coffee a day did not go on to develop Alzheimer's. That is a pretty amazing finding. Dr. Sujatha Reddy talks with
CNN's Fredricka Whitfield about the study. Dr. Reddy says the study does not prove that it is the coffee that delayed Alzheimer's. However, she says there are numerous other studies that show coffee decreases the risk of stroke and diabetes. So, drink up. Take a look:
