DirecTV has dropped The Weather Channel from 20 million homes. A message
on weather.com is encouraging people to switch to another provider. Dropping The Weather Channel seems like an odd choice for cost cutting as it is a channel many like to check for weather and travel conditions. It also is not one of the priciest channels, so it can't be saving DirecTV that much money by dropping it. The Wall Street Journal reports
that DirecTV wanted to reduce its fees to carry The Weather Channel by over 20%.
