Chemical Spill Leaves Hundreds of Thousands Without Water in West Virginia

There is a serious water crisis in West Virginia. A chemical overflowed from a containment area around a tank run by Freedom Industries. The chemical then leaked into a West Virginia American Water Co. plant.

Hundreds of thousands of people are being told not to use the water after a chemical leak. This is not just a do not drink order, but a do not use. A FAQ from West Virginia American Water about the order can be found here. All people can do is flush their totals. They are being advised not to drink, cook or bath with the water.
DO NOT USE THE WATER. Due to the nature of the contamination, the water should not be used for any purpose other than toilet flushing and firefighting. Alternative sources of water should be used for all purposes. Bottled water or water from another, safe source should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, food and baby formula preparation and all other purposes until further notice.
CNN reports that the chemical level in the water is dropping, but officials still do not know when the water will be usable again. Restaurants have closed and conditions are getting increasing miserable for residents in counties under the water warning. The National Guard is bringing in Water Buffalos and Water Tankers to help with the problem until the water is safe to use again. Take a look:
