Chef Richard Blais Makes an Upscale TV Dinner for Jimmy Fallon
Chef Richard Blais, who won Top Chef All-Stars, was a guest on
Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Richard made Jimmy an upscale, high tech TV dinner. You may recall that Jimmy was a guest judge on the show and criticized Richard for not using "more lasers and stuff" in his food. To make Jimmy happy, Richard created an unusual take on the classic TV dinners. He made cocktails first -- whiskey sours with a touch of sauerkraut juice. That made them into Whiskey Sauerkraut. Next, he made a Salisbury steak steak which he cooked sous vide. He then used meat glue to add a rack of lamb to the top of the beef.
For dessert, he used liquid nitrogen to make ice cream in an instant. "Liquid nitrogen, that's what I'm talking about!" Jimmy exclaimed. "That's Richard Blais!" Unfortunately, Richard decided to let Jimmy have go at the liquid nitrogen, which seemed to get everywhere.
It's pretty funny, take a look:
