John McCain's Ferragamo Loafers

Posted on August 3, 2008

When you're running for president, your shoes and clothing are fair game for the press. Isabel Wilkinson of The Huffington Post recently investigated the state of John McCain's footwear.

Senator McCain favors the $520 Ferragamo leather loafers which are available at Neiman Marcus. Isabel says the loafers are elitist, but consider this: do we really want our president wearing Crocs to the G8 summit?

He needs some stylin' loafers, and these fit the bill. Has anyone determined what loafers Barack Obama wears? His staff refuses to reveal who makes his suits, which is most annoying. Because it really is an important campaign issue for us.

The Nordstrom listing has photos of the stylish footwear. They are the Salvatore Ferragamo Pregiato Leather Moccasin with polished hardware and a vamp strap with with offset Gancini logo buckle.

It is noteworthy that the McCain Ferragamo incident made it onto Money's list of memorable moments in American political fashion.
