Mariah Carey talks to the AP about her role as a social worker in the buzzworthy film, Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire. The movie tells the heartrending yet upbeat story of a mentally challenged, overweight, HIV-positive young African American girl from Harlem named Precious. Precious is horribly abused by her scheming mother (played by Mo'Nique) and is impregnated by her own father. The film got rave reviews in Cannes and Mariah has gotten good reviews for her supporting role in the film, in which she shows not one bit of glamor or beauty. Take a look:
