Smithsonian to Display Hope Design Without Its Setting
The Smithsonian Institution is putting the Hope Diamond on display "naked."
The Smithsonian Institution let the public vote for one of three new setting designs. The winning design was the Embracing Hope design pictured above. The Hope Diamond's new look in the new setting will be unveiled in May, 2010. You can read more about the Hope Diamond display at the Smithsonian here. The diamond will be displayed with a setting for several months while the new setting is prepared.
