The PR Disaster Continues: Brad Pitt Freaks Out when Matt Lauer Tries to Read His Parade Quote to Him

The Brad Pitt PR Disaster continues. Brad was interviewed by Matt Lauer for The Today Show about his movie Moneyball, and about that disastrous quote he gave to Parade magazine about Jennifer Aniston in which he said: "I spent the '90s trying to hide out ... It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn't living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage [to actress Jennifer Aniston] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't."

Brad said that Jennifer did not call him after the interview, as had been reported in the press. He also said she's a pro and understands how these things work in the press. He said, "I don't know what was pieced together. It's a shame that I can't say something nice about Angie without Jen being drug in. You know, she doesn't deserve it. She's good people. She, you know, there, there should be a statute of limitations on this." Matt then tried to read back the Parade quote to Brad to show him it wasn't "pieced together."

At that point Brad started freaking out and wouldn't even let Matt read his own words back to him saying, "No, I, you know, please don't read it ... Because I don't read these things, by choice, I don't. I don't wanna be encumbered by any of that. I know my intentions, and I know what I believe, and I know things get misconstrued. I live outside of, of that, and it's much healthier." He is so weak that he can't be "encumbered" by hearing his own hurtful and rude words read back to him? What an ass.

Matt asked him what lesson did he learn from the experience and he said: "Don't talk. I don't wanna live on guard and I should be more on guard, I guess ... it's always been a part of the territory. I've got a knack for stepping into shit. And it's OK. It's alright."

He is so self-centered it's just amazing. He can't even take responsibility for his own words. We do hope he wasn't too "encumbered" by this interview. Take a look:
