There was quite a bit more formality on the red carpet at the Emmys than there has been in prior years. Many of the women wore formal updos, which we haven't seen in quite awhile.
Debra Messing debuted a new sideswept hairstyle which looked fabulous. She wore a stunning one shoulder, orange gown by Michael Kors. She accessorized with gold leaf earrings and gold earrings. Drew Barrymore looked lovely in a strapless blush Monique Lhuillier gown with a tight bodice and a full skirt with tulle embellishments. Drew carried a clutch by Raven Kauffman, wore shoes by Casadei and pearls by Hu Haute Joaillerie. January Jones looked fabulous in a white Atelier Versace gown which featured a geometric corset and a train. January wore diamonds by Neil Lane diamonds and heels by Jimmy Choo.
Leighton Meester wore a white vintage Grecian style gown by Bottega Veneta. She accessorized with jewels by Cathy Waterman and a red Bottega Veneta clutch that matched her lipstick. Her shoes were by Roger Vivier. Blake Lively took a fashion risk which paid off, wearing a revealing red Versace gown which referenced Jennifer Lopez's infamous 2002 Versace Grammy gown. Blake wore Christian Louboutin pumps and diamonds by
Lorraine Schwartz. Because the dress was so daring, her stylist put her in muted makeup and put her blond hair in one long braid. It teetered on the edge of being too much, but overall we think the hair and makeup saved it. Well played, Blake.
