Michael Kors declared that he has never worked with pastels in his entire life: he has always found them insipid. But this year he said he was inspired to take on pastels in a spring, urban setting. The color palette is a mix of lovely pale blues, violets and mint greens, with some harder edged black pieces. It's a gorgeous, youthful and yet elegant collection. The dresses are very architectural, with interesting shoulders and details. A fabulous black shift with zippers and clear plastic windows neatly referenced Courreges yet seemed very modern in this season of bare midriffs and miniskirts.
