Patrick Swayze, the star of movies including Ghost and Dirty Dancing, has died at age 57 from pancreatic cancer. Patrick Swayze was first diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January, 2008. He told told Barbara Walters in an interview in January, 2009 that he had been "going through hell." In February, Patrick Swayze wrote a Washington Post editorial asking the government for an increase in funds to research and fight cancer. Patrick's brother Don Swayze told People that his brother had been a warrior in the fight against cancer.
Patrick Swayze's Ghost co-stars Whoopi Goldberg and Demi Moore have both commented. Demi Moore tweeted, "Patrick you are loved by so many and your light will forever shine in all of our lives."
Whoopi Goldberg said, "Patrick was a really good man, a funny man and one to whom I owe much that I can't ever repay. I believe in Ghost's message, so he'll always be near."
Patrick Swayze's Dirty Dancing co-star Jennifer Grey says he was a "cowboy with a tender heart."
