Sony announced at a press conference that it will release its new PS Vita portable gaming device in Japan on December 17. The Vita will cost $249 for a Wi-Fi only device and $299 for a Vita 3G from AT&T. The price is considered to be fairly high for a portable gaming console. The unit is Sony's replacement for the PSP. Sony also revealed a list of 26 games for the new device.
A launch date for the U.S. and Europe has not been announced, but it likely won't be available until 2012. Sony has a website for the PS Vita here. Take a look:
