Alexander Wang said he wanted a thoroughly American look for his Spring, 2010 collection that he showed at New York Fashion Week. He took classic sportswear garments and gave them a twist. There were gridiron-inspired leather caps, lots of khaki, white, bare midriffs (we're seeing a lot of that this week), knee socks, fleece and knits. It has a collegiate feel to it, but in a modern, updated way. There is also quite a bit of black, especially for a spring collection, which we love. Take a look:
