Changing London: Black Cabs Giving Way to Mercedes Vans
Red telephone booths, double decker buses and traditional black cabs are the sights one expects to see when visiting London. But times are changing and the traditional black cab is losing market share to Mercedes Benz which is winning over cab drivers with its luxurious, modern van. The traditional black cabs still have 75% of the market, but the maker of the cars says sales are down 13%. In another ten years, they may be a minority on London's streets. The WSJ reports:
