Hallmark to Launch Star Trek, Star Wars Ornaments at New York Comic Con
Hallmark will make its first visit to New York Comic Con this year. The convention is being held October 13-16 at the Javits Center. Hallmark plans to launch limited edition Star Trek and Star Wars ornaments at the convention. The ornaments include the U.S.S. Defiant and the Droids R2-Q5 and R2-A3.
U.S.S. Defiant: The ill-fated U.S.S. Defiant is from the third-season episode "The Tholian Web" and celebrates the 45th anniversary of the original Star Trek television series. The ornament features luminescent paint that allows the ornament to glow green in the dark as seen in the episode.
Droids R2-Q5 and R2-A3: Fans of the Star Wars film series will recall the black-bodied R2-Q5 being assigned to the second Death Star as the red-trimmed R2-A3 flew along with X-wing starfighter pilot Wedge Antilles. The special-edition barrel-shaped Droids will be sold as a set.
