The Possession Wins Weekend Box Office with $17 Opening

The Possession won the box office this weekend. It took only $17 million for the horror film to claim the box office in the second consecutive slow weekend in theaters. The film is about a girl who gets possessed by an ancient evil spirit after buying an antique box at a yard sale. You can see the scary trailer below.

The Possession was followed by Lawless which opened with an uninmpressive weekend gross under $10 million. Lawless was followed by The Expendables 2, The Bourne Legacy, ParaNorman and The Odd Life of Timothy Green.
