Video: Chris Martin Debuts Sad Song Called Wedding Bells at Apple Keynote, Fuels Speculation of Marital Woes
Chris Martin (of Coldplay) debuted a new song called "Wedding Bells" live at the Apple Keynote. Chris said the song "may never come out in any record....
it's the beginning of a story that starts sadly, but that's the way these things...." he stopped himself from finishing that sentence and noted that "It [the performance] could go terribly wrong."
It's a lovely tune that would sound great when properly produced. Chris' voice was clearly strained and he seemed a bit tired, but you could tell the tune was lovely.
Chris is married to Gwyneth Paltrow and his little speech plus the ongoing rumors of marital discord have fans abuzz that a divorce is imminent. But perhaps the song has nothing to do with her at all. We certainly hope not.
Here are the very sad lyrics:
Those wedding bells ringing up upon that hill
I don't wanna swallow such a bitter pill
You keep on moving but I stay still
But I always loved you and I always will
Days of no sleeping caked in mud
All kinds of poison in my blood
I lost the only thing I ever loved
I heard them ringing procession by
Umbrellas in their clear blue sky
And saw you swimming in that sea of white
If everything that went before didn't matter
I always loved you and I always will
