Crooks Steal $600,000 Worth of Jewelry From Laguna Beach Store

Joshi and BacaThe OC Register reports that crooks made off with $600,000 in stolen jewelry in a robbery of a Laguna Beach, California jewelry store. Police pursued the suspects but lost them in a parking structure. Joshi & Baca, located in a historic building in downtown Laguna Beach, is the jewelry store that was robbed.
A Laguna Beach Police officer spotted the suspects' car on the 73 toll road shortly after the robbery and followed it to the Aliso Viejo Town Center, where the three suspects ran into a parking structure, said Lt. Jason Kravetz of the Laguna Beach Police.

Officers with Laguna Beach police and deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Department searched for the suspects for three hours after setting up a perimeter at the shopping center, but the three suspects are believed to have escaped through a drainage ditch in the rear of the center. No arrests have been made as of Wednesday morning, Kravetz said.
The article says one of the jewel thieves was armed. Fortunately, no one was injured in the robbery.
