Consumer Confidence Plunges in August

Consumer confidence plunged in August to its lowest level in two years. The Conference Board's Consumer Confidence Index is 44.5 for August, 2011. This is a 15 point drop from July's 59.2 score. It is no surprise that consumers are concerned. The weak job market combined with rising food, fuel and clothing costs is not a good situation. Take a look:
