Takers Edges The Last Exorcism to Win Weekend Box Office
Takers, a film about a notorious group of bank robbers, ended up edging out The Last Exorcism to win the weekend box office. Preliminary numbers had The Last Exorcism winning the weekend, but when the final numbers came in Takers made $20.5 million and Takers made $20.3 million. Takers stars Matt Dillon, Hayden Christensen, Michael Ealy, Chris Brown and Idris Elba.
The Expendables finished third and made $9.5 million to bring its box office total to $82 million. Eat Pray Love came in fourth and made $6.8 million. The Other Guys is holding strong at fifth during its fifth weekend in theaters - it is very close to passing the $100 million mark.
