The Beauty Barometer survey - conducted on behalf of L'Oreal - asked 4,000 women in the U.S. and four European countries about their cosmetic products and usage. The study found that over half of women believe makeup gives them an advantage at work. 90% have not changed their makeup usage since the recession started but 40% are wearing more neutral shades.

63% of U.S. women surveyed have not cut their hair to make it less expensive to maintain.
