Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke was a victim of identity theft. The Wall Street Journalreports that the incident began when Ben Bernanke's wife Anne's purse was stolen at a Starbucks restaurant. The purse contained four personal checks and one of them was used by the thief to transfer money out of the Bernanke's bank account. The WSJ said the Bernanke's did lose any money because they reported the suspect transaction. Ben Bernanke said they were one of 500 families traced to this particular crime ring.
