New York's Mayor Bloomberg Talks Preparation for Hurricane Irene
Mayor Bloomberg says that by the time
the storm hits New York on Sunday,
it could be as a category 2 hurricane
on Long Island. The forecast does not
say it will hit the city with that strength,
but there will be tropical storm
conditions. Police, fire and hospitals
are all preparing for the worst.
He said the storm could also
land on Monday, which would
disrupt the work day. He said
the city will notify residents
whether to stay home or go to work
if the storm hits Monday.
