Naomi Campbell is the cover girl for Uptown Magazine's 2010 style issue.
The 2010 style issue of Uptown Magazine features an in-depth look at the current state of the fashion industry and the lack of African American faces on the runways and advertising. The issue also features four African American designers that are making their mark. Other featured stories include "Ladies of Blue," a fundraiser for Spelman College, fashion spread "Cross Country," grooming tips from Veronica Webb and details on Terry McMillan's anticipated sequel to Waiting to Exhale.
Len Burnett, co-founder and group publisher, says, "Despite data proving that African American consumers over-index in their purchases of luxury fashion products, many brands including Donna Karen, Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Prada and Armani still choose not to target advertising toward them."
