Tibore, a 17-year-old North American black bear who is circus trained, had trouble eating and acted like he had a toothache, so his handlers decided to take him for a dental checkup. The dentists at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas knew just what to do: He clearly needed a root canal. No one in his right mind tries to give a bear a root canal unless the bear is put under general anesthesia, so the bear was put under for the procedure. He's doing fine now, in case you were worried.
