HotCans are self-heating cans. The self-heating cans heat up the food inside when you open the can. Firebox.com says that cans take about 12 minutes to heat up the food.
Simply remove the rubber cap, pierce the holes with the included key, open the insulated can and gawp in ravenous anticipation as a totally safe exothermic reaction heats up your highly scoffable meal in about 12 minutes. We’ve heard of convenience food but this is ridiculous. Mmm…piping hot sausage and beans!
Of course this whole exercise would be completely pointless if the grub was gopping, but HotCan recipes are really rather delish. We're not talking haute cuisine but they're certainly up there with your better quality ready meals. What’s more HotCans are suitably calorific and nutritionally balanced, so as well as satisfying all you outdoorsy types, they put sandwiches, Pot Doodahs and rival so-called fast food to shame. Pizza Yuck and Unlucky Fried Deadthing? No thanks.
HotCans come in three varities sausage and beans, beef casserole or vegetable chilli. It's not going to provide a gourmet meal but it could be a handy item for campers. The HotCans sell for about $8 each and can be purchased here.
