Video: Michelle Obama Meets the King and Queen of Spain
U.S. first lady Michelle Obama and daughter Sasha had lunch with Spain's king and queen on Sunday at the royal family's holiday retreat on the resort island of Mallorca in the Mediterranean. King Juan Carlos was quite gallant, giving Mrs. Obama a kiss on the hand. Queen Sofia gave Mrs. Obama a friendly hug. Sasha looked adorable and seemed thrilled to meet the king and queen.
The lunch menu included Andalusian-style chilled gazpacho soup, chargrilled turbot, veal escalopes with mustard, Oriental rice with sauteed mushrooms, Mallorca-style vegetable ratatouille and sliced fruit with ice cream. According to the palace press release, the meal was accompanied by wines from the northern regions of Rueda and Rioja.
