Cargill Recalls 35 Million Pounds of Ground Turkey Over Salmonella Concerns

Cargill Meat Solutions Corporation, a Springdale, Arkansas based company, is recalling approximately 36 million pounds of ground turkey products. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) says Cargill's ground turkey products may be contaminated with a multi-drug resistant strain of Salmonella Heidelberg. The outbreak has been linked to 1 death and 76 illnesses.

Some of the recalled brand names include Honeysuckle, Giant Eagle, Kroger, Safeway and Spartan. You can find a list of the recalled products here on the FSIS website.
