Lego Signs Deals With Marvel and DC Comics for Lego Super Heroes
Lego announced partnerships for Lego Super Heroes with both Marvel and DC Comics at Comic-Con 2011. Lego has already partnered with DC Comics for Batman Legos and video games. The new deal gives Lego access to more DC characters, including Superman, The Green Lantern, Robin, Catwoman, The Joker, The Riddler, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Bane, Bruce Wayne, Superman, Lex Luthor and Wonder Woman.
The Lego Group's deal with Marvel includes the rights to develop a Marvel branded construction toy collection. The initial construction sets, minifigures and buildable characters are scheduled to launch in May of 2012. The collection will highlight three Marvel franchises: Marvel's The Avengers movie, and X-Men and Spider-Man characters. Marvel characters including Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Loki, Black Widow, Wolverine, Magneto, Nick Fury, Deadpool, Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus will be available as Lego minifigures.
