Shakira Releases She-Wolf Single

Shakira is the She-Wolf. The new single will be released on July 13th. Shakira wrote and produced She-Wolf with John Hill (Santogold) and penned the lyrics.

A video directed by Jake Nava, which features the metamorphosis of a woman told through her unique dance techniques, is expected to follow the single release later this month.

"There's a she-wolf in the closet, open up and set it free, there's a she wolf in the closet, let it out so it can breathe."

The full album (title to be announced) is due out in October 2009 from Epic, a division of Sony Music.

Update 8-3-09: The full music video for Shakira's "She Wolf" is finally here. MTV reports that Shakira improvised many of the moves in the video including the hanging upside down moves.

Shakira says, "I start doing all kinds of outrageous stuff and hanging upside down and doing stuff that wasn't planned. But it was kind of an improvisation. I just got caught in the moment."

We had to laugh at this line: "I'm starting to feel just a little abused like a coffee machine in an office." The dance moves are original and the music video leaves no doubts that Shakira is very flexible, not to mention double jointed. And, of course, she looks fabulous.
