Powder On the Go

Makeup artists are always going on and on about how crucial the right powder is. But loose powder (the only kind to use, according to our vigilant dermatologist) is a horrible mess. No matter what you do, loose powder always escapes to mar your lovely bathroom counter. But we had a powder nirvana moment recently. The company that owns Chanel also owns a french cosmetics company called Bourjois. It's made in the same labs as Chanel, but it's a lot cheaper. And they have some nifty packaging ideas. This loose powder contraption is simply amazing. You open the lid, push up the brush, and through the miracle of French engineering, the loose powder deposits itself on the brush. Now you have the right amount of loose powder on the brush, ready to be swept on your waiting, flawless complexion. It's only $20 at Ulta.com or Sephora.com. It comes in a number of colors, including a fabulous gold highlighter, a silver highlighter, and all the other normal colors. We love this powder and won't travel without it.
