Saks 5th Avenue to Carry Plus Size Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana
Racked reports that Saks 5th Avenue in New York will begin carrying plus sizes by high end designers such as Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana and Oscar de la Renta.
The items will be mixed in with the other items, not put into a plus-sized ghetto. Most of these brands only go up to a 10, but some of the brands will go up to a size 14 or even a 20.
And we're not just talking about smart suits and evening gowns for the ladies-who-lunch set (though they'll have plenty to peruse, with extended sizes from Akris, Armani, Carolina Herrera, Escada, Donna Karan, St. John, Oscar de la Renta, Max Mara, Valentino and Michael Kors). Saks will also be stocking plus-sized pieces by the aforementioned Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana, as well as from Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Fendi and Roberto Cavalli.
Rached says that there won't be many of the larger-sized clothing, so it's first come, first served. But if the garments sell well, the extended sizes will also be place in other Saks stores.
