Seventh Generation Products to Be Sold in Walmart Stores Starting Next Month

Walmart Seventh Generation LogosThe Wall Street Journal reports that Seventh Generation co-founder, executive chairman, and chief inspired protagonist Jeffrey Hollender used to say "hell would freeze over" before he would let Seventh Generation's green products be sold at Walmart stores. Times have changed. Select Seventh Generation products, including detergent, dish soap and disinfectant wipes, will go on sale in 1,500 Walmart stores beginning in August. Still more of the company's products will go on sale in Walmart stores in September.

The WSJ article says Seventh Generation products "typically are among the most expensive in their categories." Seventh Generation and Walmart would not share details about what discounts Seventh Generation products will receive inside Walmart stores. A Walmart spokesperson only said, "We're committed to bringing our customers affordable prices, and that will be the same here."

If you are curious aboout why Seventh Generation co-founder Jeffrey Hollender change his mind about Walmart you can read his 2008 article here called Strange Bedfellows? Why Seventh Generation Is Doing Business With Wal-Mart’s Marketside Stores.
