The amazing Inception movie directed by Christopher Nolan held on the top spot at the box office this weekend. Salt, a thriller starring Angelina Jolie, was also a big hit on the box office this weekend. Inception made $43.5 million and Salt made $36.5 million.
The animated Despicable Me took third place and made over $21 million. The Sorcerer's Apprentice finished fourth in a strong hold from its weak opening. The word of mouth should be good for the fun family film. Toy Story 3 came in fifth and added $9 million to its growing box office total that will soon reach the $400 million mark. Ramona and Beezus - the film based on the Beverly Clearly books and starring Selena Gomez - made $8 million and finished sixth in its first weekend in theaters.
