Apple Reveals Its Anechoic Chambers for Testing Phones
Apple revealed its $100 million anechoic chambers it uses to test smartphones during Friday's press conference. Apple says it futuristic labs feature 17 different antenna characterization chambers (or anechoic chambers) designed to accurately measure antenna and wireless performance. The
anechoic chambers are connected to sophisticated equipment that simulates cellular base stations, Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth devices and GPS satellites. It must be pretty weird to be in one of the anechoic chambers all by yourself.
