Eminem's Recovery Has Sold Over 1 Million Copies

Eminem Recovery

Eminem's album Recovery is aptly named as it has helped the artist recover his fading music career. Billboard reports that Eminem's new album Recovery has topped its bestselling album chart, the Billboard 200, for the third straight week.
Eminem's "Recovery" is the first album to notch three consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 since March, as it holds atop the tally with 229,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The last album to string three weeks in a row at No. 1 was Sade's "Soldier of Love" back in March.
The L.A. Times says the album has eclipsed the 1 million units sold mark.
With 2010 reaching its halfway mark, U.S. album sales are again facing another double-digit decline. Yet amid the harsh climate, Eminem's "Recovery" has managed to top 1 million in sales after adding an additional 313,000 copies sold to its tally this week. "Recovery" is one of four albums released in 2010 to sell more than 1 million copies through the first half of the year, according to mid-year data released today from Nielsen SoundScan.
The L.A. Times says the rest of the industry in not faring as well as Eminem. Album sales are down 11% through June of this year compared to the first half of 2009.
