Trailer for The Thing Prequel Starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton

Here is the trailer for The Thing starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton. The film is a prequel to John Carpenter's 1982 cult classic, which itself was based on the novella Who Goes There? by John W. Campbell, Jr. The film was directed by Matthijs van Heijningen and hits theaters October 14th.

The original film starred Kurt Russell and Wilford Brimley. It later gained cult status on DVD. It didn't do well at the box office initially -- it opened the same day as Ridley Scott's Blade Runner and just two weeks after Steven Spielberg's massive hit, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial was released.
