Post Claims Debbie Rowe Giving Up Custody Rights for $4 Million

The New York Post is reporting today that Debbie Rowe is giving up all her custody right to her kids for $4 million.
Michael Jackson's baby mama Debbie Rowe has sold her kids again -- this time squeezing about $4 million from her former mother-in-law in exchange for giving up her parental rights, a family source told The Post yesterday. "It's one final payday," the disgusted Jackson confidant said. The family isn't happy about the mega-payout -- which was set to be sealed in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon -- but they consider it a necessary evil, the source said. "They felt it was like a ransom-type thing. [Rowe] jumped back into the picture because she wanted money," the friend said.

"This would be it. This takes away any rights she has to challenge custody at any given time," the source said. "If something happens to Katherine, [Rowe] can't challenge the next [guardian], whether that be Diana Ross or someone in the family."
Neither Debbie's or Katherine's attorneys would comment for the article, so there is no way of knowing if the source is reliable or if this is true. We hope it's not true. Debbie Rowe has been lambasted in the press since Michael's death, but she's pretty much stayed quiet, so we don't really know exactly how she feels about the situation. Those kids are going to find out she's their mother as soon as they turn on a TV or a computer and they need to have some kind of contact with her as they grow up.

The rumor mill is so out of control on this case that nothing's for sure until the custody hearing on July 20th. If there really is a settlement, it will be announced then. Until then, we're not buying any of it.

Update: Debbie Rowe's attorney has denied these reports saying Debbie doesn't want any money other than the spousal support she got from Michael Jackson and that she will never give up her parental rights. Good for her.
