Video: BP Removes Old Cap to Make Way For Better One
Robotic submarines removed the cap from the gushing well in the Gulf of Mexico today. For at least two days, oil will flow freely into the sea. The old cap was removed to make way for a new, improved cap which BP says it hopes will contain almost all of the oil gushing out. They hope to have the leak mostly capped within two weeks. The relief well (which will provide a permanent fix for the spill) should be done by the end of the month. We certainly hope so. Take a look:
