Apple's App Store Hacked. People Charged for Apps They Didn't Purchase
The Next Web reports that Apple's app store on iTunes.com has been hacked in a couple of ways. The rankings have been hacked and some people's individual accounts appear to have been hacked. The Next Web says one rogue developer has 40 of the 50 top apps in the iTunes books category.
Two iPhone App developers have spotted what appears to be a hacking of the App store rankings by a rogue developer. The rankings in the books category of the US iTunes store features 40 out of 50 apps by the same app developer, Thuat Nguyen.
The Next Web also says people's individual iTunes accounts are being hacked. The Next Web has posted emails from people who say there are charges on their iTunes accounts for apps they did not purchase. Some users have been charged as much as $600 for apps they did not purchase. There are more reports of iTunes.com users' accounts being hacked here on macrumors.com.
