Tiffany & Co. designed the trophy for The Foundation Polo Challenge, which will be held July 9th in Santa Barbara. The Foundation Polo Challenge benefits the American Friends of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry. Prince William will participate in the challenge. The trophy will be presented by The Duchess of Cambridge to the winners of The Foundation Polo Challenge.
Handcrafted of sterling silver and 18 karat gold vermeil, the trophy weighs 14.7 pounds and stands 18 inches tall. The decorative bands on the trophy feature horseshoe motifs entwined with laurel that were originally designed by Eugene Soligny in 1876 for the National Cup for Stallions. The handles are cast, with applied polo pony details.
