Drapers reports that an employee at Topshop's flagship store on Oxford Street in London is out sick with swine flu.
The infected employee has not worked at the store for nine days, but staff at the store, which attracts about 200,000 customers a week, are being told to be on alert for any sign of the virus spreading.
A Topshop spokeswoman said: "We have not been notified of any new cases in the nine days since this matter came to light. We have sought proper medical advice and we briefed our staff last Thursday."
As swine flu cases mount more and more businesses will be affected. Businesses could even have major problems with employees out sick with the h1n1 swine flu if it returns with vengeance this fall. Some employees will also be hospitalized and potentially die from the global pandemic which has already killed 87 people in the U.S. and at least one person in the UK. Recent reports indicate that the swine flu is not slowing down like the flu usually does during the summer. You can find a list of swine flu resources here.
